School Missions
Annually, St Joseph's host a special Mission Week during Summer Term
‘Stop Make Time for Jesus’
The missions involve a youth team from Salford Diocese joining our school. As a school we have explored themes of mercy; love, forgiveness and compassion. Exploring these themes is a lot of fun as the activities included drama, art, singing and dancing. The week also involves staff workshops looking at the vocation of priests today and a sacred meditation session. These missions bring us together as a whole community and we the week always culminates in a special celebratory mass on the Friday where families, parishioners, governors and the local community are invited. It is always a fabulous occasion and continues to inspire the school with many ideas that can be implemented after they go as a continued school legacy.
'During our Mission Week, I enjoyed sacred meditation the most. I really felt it brought me closer to Jesus as I could see him in front of me. I could share and offload all my sad thoughts and I felt so clear in my head afterwards.'

'My favourite part of Mission Week was the Mass at the end. It was great doing drama and be a part of it. I enjoyed signing the Hail Mary too. I felt that this Mass really brought us together as a school.'

'We are going to take more of an active part now in Masses as we have been inspired by this Mission.'
